It’s the unofficial start to summer, and you probably broke out the bathing suits, towels, pool toys, beach bags, and sunscreen this past week.
Here are some tips and tricks on keeping your sunscreen and towels more organized:
We all know we end up every year buying more sunscreen vs checking to see what we still have. A Lazy Susan is a great and simple way to keep your sunscreen organized and all in one spot. This prevents them from falling over, being pushed to the back of a cabinet where they are often forgotten about, or just thrown in a drawer. The benefit to using a lazy susan is that you will also know what you have in stock so you don’t purchase any unnecessary tubes of sunscreen only to find you have unused sunscreens from last summer!
Gather all your sunscreens (checking beach bags, cabinets, drawers, anywhere you typically throw them at the end of the previous summer) and place them on the counter.
Grab a wet wipe and wipe each tub down. Make sure to get off any excess build-up of sunscreen.
While wiping them down, check the expiration dates on sunscreen.
Toss what has expired, and keep what is closest to expiring in a separate pile.
Take your lazy susan and begin to place the items in, making sure to put similar sunscreens together (same brands, same SPF, face sunscreen vs body sunscreen, etc)
With those sunscreens that are about to expire, place them in the front so you grab those first and don’t open another one till they are empty.
Rolled towels take up significantly less space than flat folded towels and let’s be honest, look fancy! By rolling your towels they can be stored easily in other places if you have limited storage space.
You can do a simple roll as showed in the photo or a more fancy roll. If you are looking for a fancier roll please see the directions below.
Start by folding the towel in half.
Grab one of the corners and bring it across until it is parallel to the far edge.
Flip the towel.
Then fold the corners in thirds.
Flip the towel again.
And begin tightly rolling.
