For this giving Tuesday, Let Us Organize It wants to shine a light on an outstanding foundation that has been doing incredible work in the community with the education and knowledge of food allergies. Here at Let Us Organize It we pride ourselves on doing what we can for a good cause in and outside our daily organizing and event planning. The Allison Rose Foundation has been an incredible organization that we’ve been able to support since the beginning of our journey.
The Allison Rose Foundation is a foundation that has been dedicated to changing the lives of food allergy families through the power of education, awareness, research, and advocacy. ARF was formed by Becca and Michael Suhy after the sudden passing of their daughter Allison Rose, 18, from an anaphylactic reaction from a severe peanut allergy in November 2017.
Since the passing of Allison, ARF has done some amazing things with food allergy prevention, has been a comprehensive support system to food allergy-affected families, and educated and bring awareness to EVERYONE--with or without food allergies while also raising money to eventually find a cure. ARF has even been able to enact its own House Bill 231, “Allison Rose Act”, to motivate school districts, community, and STEM schools to construct necessary food allergy training for staff members and students.
Nine major food allergies include; milk, egg, peanut, tree nuts, wheat, soy, fish, crustacean shellfish, and sesame – which are responsible for most of the serious food allergy reactions in the United States. Allergy to sesame allergy is an emerging concern as well. The Asthma & Allergy Foundation of America, (AAFA), reported that “ More than 50 million Americans have experienced various types of allergies each year. Allergies are the 6th leading cause of chronic illness in the U.S.” This statistic shows how important it is to be as knowledgeable and informed about the dangers of severe allergic reactions and how many people just in America are affected by it. AARF has been an incredible source of this knowledge and the advocacy of its sole importance.
With all the incredible things the Allison Rose Foundation has been able to do so far, here at Let Us Organize It we want to be able to show our support as much as possible. That is why a portion of all proceeds of services are donated to the Allison Rose Foundation. Over the past year, we’ve been able to donate $1000 to the Allison Rose Foundation in solidarity with support of all the outstanding things they’ve done already and will continue to do in the future.
If you would like to show your support for this cause you can donate on their website or through their Venmo: allisonrose-foundation!
